Program Abstract
Traffic Incident Management (TIM) Teams, which are known by many different names, are an important, proven method for coordinating traffic incident management at the local, regional, state, and interstate levels. TIM Teams, when planned well and executed consistently, give all response agencies the opportunity to form relationships, share information, plan cooperatively, coordinate SOPs and response protocols, cross-train, and conduct after action reviews. However, it can be challenging to start a TIM Team and maintain it for the long haul because leadership, consistent membership, cooperation, participation, negotiation, and agreement can be elusive. This self-paced program provides guidance on how to start and sustain a TIM Team, offering a framework, proven models, and tips for success.
